Do not miss this on TV!

Monday night (memorial day) at 6pm on National Geographic. (it also repeats a few more times during the week).

Oh what is it? It's a 2-hour program called "Extraterrestrial". A team of scientists came up with science-based possibilities on how life may look on other planets. Among the things shown will be a "Blue Moon" world with flying whales. I kid you not!

New Segment: Let's Face It!

Here at the Factor we are introducing a brand new segment called "Let's Face It". This is going to be a very edgy/controversial segment, so reader beware!

In this edition of "Let's Face It":

Let's face it, most people are either clones, sheep or dumb, or all of the above.

Hot Thug at Jack In The Box!

So I went to drive-thru at Jack In the Box to get some totally unhealthy bear food. To my surprise, the drive-thru window person was quite handsing. Not just handsing but also manly in a mild faux-thug kind of way. I was surprised - he was very friendly and smiling at me repeatedly. I thought "Wow! may be he is attract to my unshaved rough bear looks!". So I smiled back and was friendly as well. He even said "want sum ketchup wit dat" in a very deep and sexy voice. "Wow!", I thought, "this bear may get some action today!". I was so excited! As he handed me the receipt, I noticed he had some long and thick manly fingers. "Wow!", I said to myself, "this is sooo cool!". Then I look at the receipt: a customer satisfaction survey...

The Factor Discovers Today's Hip Music!

In this new segment, here at the Factor, we will be exploring some of today's new and hip music and posting our impressions.

In today's segment we critique Modest Mouse and Interpol. Granted the Factor has only listened to one song from each band - a few times over each. Yet we feel comfortable in renaming "Modest Mouse" to "Sleepy Mouse". We are also wondering whether "Interpol" can catch any criminals since they are almost as sleepy as "Sleepy Mouse".

New Diet Coke now with Splenda!

And coming in June, Coca Cola Zero (see post below). Does that remind anyone of Pepsi One? :-0)

Album of the week: "Hot Fuss"

The Factor would like to thank internet entity "Qua" for recommending this CD!

Now I am addicted to it! This Cd can be described as a "best of the 80s" with contemporary accents. Tracks #1 and #10 sound like early Duran Duran. Plenty of hints of The Smiths, Cure, etc, even the Strokes, while one song starts in a very Beatlesque manner. There's also a gender confusion song and a jock stalking song - among others :-). Oh the band name is "The Killers", not to be confused with "The Kills", or "Killers".

Cola Wars!

Coca Cola ZERO is the new sexy 0 calorie diet Coke with a ummmm real Coke taste! Coming in JuNe!

Digital camera Savings and Bargain alert!

May is National Pornography month!

This bargain alert is ideal for people who like to buy digital cameras in physical brick and mortar stores (instead of online).

Microcenter is celebrating the National Photography month by offering 20% off all digital cameras in stock. You get the discount by putting a camera in your shopping cart and then clicking on "Apply Coupon" which will take 20% off. That's the only way to see the discount. If you want to shop at Microcenter online or at the store you are done. Stop reading this post and either buy online or at the store.

If you don't want to buy at Microcenter, you can try to get your favorite store to price-match them, like Circuit City, Best Buy, Sears, etc. Some stores will even give you a 10% bonus of the difference. So you can get it for even less at your favorite store. (I did this with Circuit City and Microcenter a few years ago - it was cheaper [even with sales tax] than reliable reputable online stores (eg Amazon) and I didn't have to wait for shipping)

If you are buying online, well, there's plenty of places to find even better bargains, but depending on the digital camera model, this bargain may be competitive.

Sandisk is the #2 MP3 player ...player!

What? Yes! Well according to research firm NPD group, they have a 6% market share:
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2005/04/25/BUGGLCDPUF1.DTL

The unwashed masses are of course lining up to pay for the iPods giving Apple a 2/3rds market share - 65.7%

Mr Sam Sung (aka Tri Star) has decided that they will become a global #1 by 2007.

The PayPal Killer has a Ralphs mailbox!

So in case you haven't heard there is this new "company" out of San Diego that claims they are going to be bigger than PayPal. They are using a referral system to sign up members enticing everyone with $25+ non-cash bonuses. At some point you have to link your checking account and give them $100 in order to "access" the bonuses. *cough*cough* You can find out all about it if you Google them. You will also find out why it's so controversial - the background of some of its insiders is ...less than stellar *cough*cough* :-)

Some of the exciting things about this new exciting company that were brought up in the interview are:
  • The company mailing address is a POBox at a Postal Annex at a Ralph's Grocery Store (Watch out PayPal!) - This is in Part3.MP3. You MUST listen to it!
  • They don't appear to be listed with the Secretary of State (California) * cough * cough *
  • They don't seem to have the appropriate financial licenses to be handling and storing other people's money * cough * cough *

The president of the "company" was interviewed by EauctionAir.com:
It's a two part interview in MP3 format:

    PSA: Yield to Raider Fan

If you are driving around, or walking around in a parking lot, or in a store, ALWAYS yield to Raider Fan. Raider Fan is similar to the european soccer hooligans. Raider Fan is not joking around. Do not pick a fight with Raider Fan. An easy way to spot a Raider Fan is the stickers on their car/truck, and Raider shirts, hats, tattoes and such.

So to summarize, yield to Raider Fan!

eBay alert: site is having problems

    What's your Coffee name?

I guess the first quesiton would be "Do you have a Coffee name?", and the 2nd question would be "What is it?".

    Exchange your books for free!

No need to buy books - just trade your unwanted books with the unwashed masses. The only cost is shipping your unwanted books to others (and it's very cheap if you use Media Mail).

    Online Mall Map?

It was bound to happen, someone (buy.com in this case) would come up with a mall-style map of their online mall.
It is a cheesy yet very clever idea:

    Revelations reveals more...

Revelations (yesterday's epsiode on NBC) revealed more on how religious "fanatics" view "scientists" (or anyone without a religious affiliation).

They did not want the "good guys" to say those words - well, we don't want to make the "good guys" look bad, do we? So the "evil ones" said it instead - an easy way to take a direct shot at scientists/atheists while at the same time using the "evil ones" to utter those words! How convinient!

So what was it? ---> The "satanist" told the "scientist" that he is worse than both sides (good and evil), because he doesn't believe in either [religion] and "looks down" on them for their beliefs.

    Yet another "revelation"!
