Pro-Life bumper sticker exposes the brainwashing of the right wing :-)

I was stuck in traffic and as usual I read a few bumper stickers :-) One car was loaded with "pro-life" bumper stickers. These were a bit more "edgy" than the usual pro-life bumper stickers. One said "There would be no Christmas if Mary was pro-choice".

I give them two points for creativity, however, when you analyze the logic of it, just like most of the things parrotted by the right wing drones, it doesn't really make any sense: Pro-Choice is not Pro-Abortion. If Mary was Pro-Choice, she would choose, and we would still have Christmas. You see, pro-choice does not mean pro-abortion :-) In fact its only in rare cases were pro-choice leads to an abortion. How else do you explain the billions of people on this planet? :-)

This reality check was brought to you by Common Sense :-)

Noah's Arc creates a new term: Effemophobia!

Effemophobia, the fear of effeminate (gay) men!

After Noah's Arc aired, two Google entries appeared for that word.

Google search for effemophobia

By the time you read this, there will be more; well at least one more :-)

Ouch for Pluto and Tower

  • Pluto is not a planet they say now. As if they know what they are talking about: They are the same people who said Pluto was a planet :-)
  • Tower Records is filing for Chapter 11. I hope they will survive, as they are one of the last remaining music-only music stores!

    SciFi Weekly

  • Stargate SG-1 ends its run at the conclusion of season #10. http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php?category=0&id=37607. Extensive coverage of this development at http://www.gateworld.net/. Don't count SG-1 out just yet according to executive producer Robert Cooper. SciFi is once again screwing around, cancelling legit scifi shows for the sake of superhero reality junk! It is time for another company to come up with a full-time scifi channel :-) Incidentally Gateworld just redesigned their website giving it a new sleek look! Take a look :-)
  • Stargate Atlantis will return for another season
  • The 4400 will return next summer for Season 4. Renewed by USA Networks. The season finale of season 3 airs this Sunday night! http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php?category=0&id=37647
  • A 2nd Doctor Who spinoff was apparently cancelled. http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php?category=0&id=37608
  • NBC is working on a time travel tv show
  • Meanwhile the original Star Trek turns 40, with TV Land planning a special mini-marathon. And there's a story about this in the online edition of the San Jose Mercury Nudes

8-hour Chat Block was awarded today!

I have finally lost one pound! This was one of the most stubborn pounds ever. Probably because I am building muscles while counting dust particles in the air ;-)

So this gives me a brand new eight (8) hour chat block. I hope to use it wisely, and not spend it all in a non-stop chat marathon :-) Tanya Turner is back !!!

A new interview with RDM has been posted at SciFiPulse.net:

    http://scifipulse.net/Interviews/SciFiPulse_RDMInterviewAug2006.html

A shorter version can be found at TrekWeb: http://trekweb.com/articles/2006/08/08/Ronald-D-Moore-on-Galactica-Third.shtml

He talks about some hot topics:
  • Plans for Season 3 - no major spoilers
  • Killing Kirk
  • Absence of gay characters and homosexuality in BSG
  • the new prequel show Caprica
  • 28% drop in ratings through Season 2
  • leaked scripts

BSG fans be sure to check your local listings: A new one-hour recap of the series so far will be shown on the various NBC/Universal television properties, beginning with NBC at 10pm this Sunday night. Check local listings at Yahoo.

And coming up in September, a 10-part web-series will debut on the web, at Pulse (SciFi's broadband channel). Season 3 is expected to debut the first Friday of October (with Doctor Who Season 2 starting the week before). The DVDs for the 2nd half of Season 2 will be released before then.

And this concluses the BSG edition of this blog ;-)

    SciFi News segment

The SciFi Channel gets some SciFi shows for a change: SciFi gets new stuffs (!), including the last (and miserable) Enterprise, Twilight Zone, CBS's Threshold, Stephen King mini-series, a few more cancelled network TV shows and B-movies.

Meanwhile TV Land has acquired the rights to the original Star Trek series. It premiers at 8pm on September 8, 2006.

Ron Moore recently updated his Battlestar Galactica blog, providing more details on the episodes and schedule for Season 3.
