    New product of the month!

This is turning into a food blog :-)

The prestigious product of the month award goes to Trader Joe's "Italian Tiramisu Gelato". You have to try it!. Have to! It is soooooooooooooo good!

Galactica DVD Region 1 USA edition preorder !

Amazon has just listed the Battlestar Galactica DVD Region 1 USA edition for preorder for the super low price of just $42! This includes (!) the mini-series (which costs $20+ as a stand alone DVD), and the 13 episodes of season 1, along with bonus features, commentary and deleted scenes. This is a great bargain! It should be available in late September 2005.

This is not be confused with what Best Buy is _exclusively_ releasing tomorrow: Best Buy is releasing the UK version of Season 1, but in Region 1 format, for $48.

Obviously it is tempting to get both, but if you want to get only one, and if you can wait another two months, the USA edition is a much better bargain on both content and value$.

Hard core fans will probably get both versions along with the mini-series DVDs, the soundtracks, the companion book, etc, etc... If you would like to donate any of them to the O'Sneazy Factor, please do so ;-)

    Faux-Philosophical Quickie

This was inspired by "IcyFire": "The universe is a box of pointless things".

    Personal Segment

Thousands of fans of this blog have requested more personal information, so here it comes:

If you are the hot Sam/Bam/Gam from last Sunday, with the sexy Polo RL shirt, naturally spiky hair, thick calves and hairy legs, please send me an email ASAP or leave a comment here ;-)

Next Big Thing for the average Joe: DVD recorders

With the Cyberhome recorder advertised at $100 by one of the electronics superstores, and a major brand-name combo DVD-recorder/VCR barely over $200, the price is almost right for the masses to jump on the DVD recording bandwagon. Even electronics giant Panasonic re-aligned their product line-up with their relatively new Diga brand which adds support for one of the RW rewritable formats (as well as RAM of course).

    TV Guide at your fingerprints

The fastest way to look up TV shows by zip code and provider (air, satellite, cable, etc) is http://tv.yahoo.com/advsearch. This is just a search window where you can type the name of what you are looking for (once you set up your zipcode/provider which can be stored as a cookie for future visits). For example, search for "swimming" to find the latest broadcast times for the FINA World championships in Montreal...

    Bargains galore!

Do you like bargains? free stuff? great deals? chasing the next great bargain? Well you are not alone! Thousands of bargainaholics are visiting and posting at http://www.fatwallet.com/

    Weekly BCA segment

    Source: http://www.billboard.com/bb/daily/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1000973674

Making sure everyone knows he is straight, this artist goes by the name of George Strait, and he just happens to be the new #1 in the Billboard album charts with a 245,000 debut.

At #2, the Ying-Yang twins set a career record with 201,000 units while their previous album is platinum.

At #3 Coldplay sells 140,000 which is down 23% from last week.

At #4, Mimi drops just 0.2% to 131,000. This should make Mariah fans happy!

At #5, Philly rapper Cassidy opens with 93,000. His previous album sold 414,000.

At #6, Black Eyed peas drop 12% to 90,000 units

At #7, down 23% to 88,000 are the FooFighters.

At #8, Kelly "boring with no talent" Clarkson is up 3% to 63,000.

At #9, up 0.5% to 61,000 is Gwen Stefani. (The HP camera with her own design is still available at $250 on Amazon).

At #10, up 4% to 60,500 is Toby Keith with the contradictory titled CD ;-)

At #12, critically acclaimed Anthony Hamilton debuts wiht 53,000. His previous album has quietly become platinum.

At #18, Vivian Green gets her highest debut with 46,000. Her previous one is now gold.

    Other debuts
    #35: CKY (who? what? where?)
    #37: Razor & Tie with a compilation
    #48: Bizarre

    Next week
Expect Live8 performances to boost the sales of some of the artists who participated, as well as some of the "Catalog" albums that billboard does not list in the top 200, even though they sell enough to be there. (stupid eh?).

    Week after next
Expect the rebroadcast of Live8 with musical priority (instead of commercial and blah-blah priority) to also help some of the Live8 performers.

    Gas price update

$1.49 for 87 at a discount station (Rotten Robbie). This is +$0.10 since yesterday! Ouch!
