Outing the closeted gay politicians!

Mike Rogers is turning Capitol Hill into Brokeback Mountain according to this Yahoo People of the Web profile. (note: link has multimedia junk)...

You can read all about it as his blog, blogactive.com...

I hope he does not out conservative bloggers. I do not want to be on his list ;-)

The Chair for the Spam King?

Is the Chair a fair punishment for this Spam King? :-)

Civil Unions signed into law in New Hampshire!

  • Hooray for New Hampshire! This New England State's Governator just signed into law! Woohoo! Here's what the Yahoo News story says:
"Couples who enter civil unions will have the same rights, responsibilities and obligations as married couples. Same-sex unions from other states also would be recognized if they were legal in the state where they were performed".

    Gay Rights and Gay Wrongs

In this brand new controversial segment, we will be looking at Gay Rights and Gay Wrongs!

  • Gay Rights: It is interesting that the majority of democratic Senators have the same official position on gay marriage as Papa Bear: civil unions. Who is Papa Bear? Papa Bear is Bill O'Reilly of the O'Reilly Factor and the Radio Factor.
  • Gay Wrongs: AARP RQs chasing half-agers.
  • Gay Rights: The general population has made progress. Rosie was drinking wine with another lesbian on webcam/blogcam, but most people did not complain about the lesbianism.
  • Gay Wrongs: Project Runway (ha!)

TV review: 1/2 hour newshour on Fox News

Fox News tried hard to come up with something similar to the Daily Show and the Colbert Report on Comedy Central. Part of that strategy was "Red Eye" airing at 11pm at night, but they wanted something more. So every Sunday night they have a 30-minute show called "1/2-hour Newshour", perhaps taking a shot at PBS' Newshour. Needless to say, PBS's Newshour contains more news in one hour than Fox News in a whole week. But that's a different story!

The 1/2-hour newshour is really more of an SNL Newsdesk than the Daily Show. They even have a Tina Fey-type woman sitting at the desk. The special correspondant they have are more like the Daily Show though... No attempts (yet) to come up with a Colbert-style personality.

To give the show some credibility, they even have a short segment with born-again conservative and Monday Night Football and MSNBC outcast Dennis Miller, a self-proclaimed libertarian (not conservative).

As usual with repressed sexuality Fox News types, the first two episodes had gay issues. The first one included a lesbian make-out session (almost) on the stage showing "inappropriate behavior at the office" with the Tina Fey clone getting "touched" by the in-studio guest... The 2nd episode had an in-studio male guest who had a crush on John Edwards and especially his $400 hairstyle.

But it's not all bad. They do have their funny moments, but they are nowhere near as good/funny as the Daily Show and the Colbert Report.

Needless to say they found a way to mention the French surrendering (to themselves this time).

  • Stamp prices go up on Monday! Yahoo News says so!. New is a "forever stamp" that won't be affected by future postal rate changes! A great song for this "forever stamp" would be a version of "Forever young" re-recorded as "forever stamp".
  • Tommy Thompson tried to cover up his comments during the prez debate where he thought employers should be allowed to discriminate against gays and lesbians if they thought homosexuality was immoral. In an attempt to cover up this obnoxiously inappropriate comment he made himself look like he is totally incompetent to be president. Let's go through his excuses: He had to run to the bathroom so he rushes his answers (sure!), he lost his hearing aid, his other hearing aid's battery just happened to ran out of juice (what a coinicidence!)... If this man can't handle his hearing aids, and can't pay attention when he has to go to the bathroom, how exactly is he qualified to run a country?
  • The bargain websites and forums are buzzing with the $1 per month for 12 months dual tuner standard definition DVR rental offer from Comcast! $1 per month is a good price, approved by a super cheap stingy bargain hunter like me :-)

    That's entertainment!

  • Some may be wondering why I have not written about the Paris Hilton story. Regular readers of the blog already know the reason why: I am a very conservative blogger, I do not talk about the lefty hollywood elitist starlets who step on our moral values with their sin-covered alligator boots while overdosing on undistilled debauchery!
  • A reminder tonight we have another episode of the brand new gay sketch comedy show on Logo called "The Big Gay Sketch Show"! It airs at 10pm PT/ET with multiple repeats throught the week. It is 30-minutes long. Please don't expect SNL or MadTV production values. Logo's budget is much much smaller!
  • Also look out for an LGBT breakthrough coming to your TV in June on BBC America: a bisexual character is starring in BBC's Torchwood, a spin-off show from the newly rebooted Doctor Who.

    I want my gay tv!

I want my gay tv! Well, you can have it! It's all yours - Gay TV Guide at Queery.com... You may find some of the things listed there a bit surpring, but you are probably not the only one (surprised)...

If you are not gay, make sure you avoid those shows. You can catch "gay" just by watching them, especially on big screen TVs or high-definition broadcasts! ;-)
